Coaching With WCYBA
All coaches in our organization are volunteers. this is something we pride ourselves on, because without our coach volunteers, we would not have a program. we want to provide as much support to our coaches as possible, so we have included some links and practice drills below for your use.
if you are new to our program and want to coach, please email us at support@wcyba.org and we will provide you with the information needed to register.
Important 25/26 Season Dates
- Coaches Meeting #1 - October 2, 2025 6:30pm @ Elite Athletics Court 7
- Coaches Meeting #2 - October 6, 2025 6:30pm @ Elite Athletics Court 7
- Coaches Clinic #1 - October 11, 2025
- 10:30am-12pm (2nd & 3rd grade coaches only)
- 1:00pm-2:30pm (4th, 5th & 6th grade coaches only)
- Coaches Clinic #2 - October 18, 2025
- 10:30am-12pm (2nd & 3rd grade coaches only)
- 1:00pm-2:30pm (4th, 5th & 6th grade coaches only)
- All background checks & training requirements due by October 15, 2025
Coaching Requirements
Attend a MANDATORY coaches meeting: Meetings will be held at Elite Athletics. All coaches must attend. 2nd-6th grade coaches will be required to attend a mandatory coaches clinic as well.
Background Checks: All new coaches are required to have a background check run. These come due every 2 years. WCYBA Board will cover the cost of background checks. If you had your background check run last season, you do not need to submit a new request this season.

Concussion Training: All coaches and assistant coaches must complete or have active concussion training on file that covers the entire basketball season
If you have already completed training through the National Alliance for Youth Sports or the CDC Heads Up Program, you do not need to complete a new training as long as it is valid for the entire season

If you have not completed training, or your current training will expire, you will need to use the below link to take the training course
Team Fundraising:
Teams may fundraise during the season for various expenses, however, all fundraising efforts must be approved by the Board of Directors PRIOR to taking place. If your team is interested in holding a fundraiser, please email support@wcyba.org and more information will be provided.
