Our K-1 Program is a chance for boys and girls in Kindergarten and First grade to learn the sport. It is a 6-week program run on Saturdays. Each team will have a 30-minute practice before a 30-minute game.
K-1's season will begin October 12th and end November 16th.
With the number of athletes in our program, we are unable to accommodate special requests for coaches. Any player whose parent/guardian has volunteered to coach will automatically be placed on the same team as their parent/guardian. We do keep rosters each year and as long as a player signs up on time we do our best to place back on the team from the previous year.
All registration fees are due no later than the first week of games. Fees can be paid by Credit Card in TeamSnap, by cash or by check made payable to West Clermont Youth Basketball Association. Any player with outstanding fees will not be able to play in any league games until all fees are paid in full.
Select tryouts will be held on the following dates at Elite Athletics.
Friday 9/20:
5:30pm-7:00pm - 3rd & 4th grade boys
7:30pm-9:00pm - 5th & 6th grade boys
Saturday 9/21:
10:00am-11:30am - All Girls
12:00pm-1:30pm - TBD
Sunday 9/22:
12:00pm-1:30pm - 3rd & 4th Grade boys
1:30pm-3:00pm - 5th Grade boys & All girls
Wednesday 9/25:
5:30pm-7:00pm - All Girls
7:30pm-9:00pm - All boys
All participants must attend at least 2 tryout sessions. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis if you cannot attend 2 sessions.
– K/1 will practice 30 minutes prior to each game on Saturdays. Location TBD.
– 2nd grade will play 10 regular season games. Tournaments are held in-house and dependent on gym availability.
– 3rd-12th grade Recreation teams will play 10 regular season games with one guaranteed tournament game.
– Select teams will play 20 regular season games with one guaranteed tournament game.
– All home games will be held at Elite Athletics.
We no longer offer discounts associated with multiple siblings in the league. Registration fees are as follows: K/1 Program – $65 ; 2nd Grade – $90 ; 3rd-12th Grade – $125 ; Select – $250
Additional costs not included in registration fees:
Referee Fee – Each team is required to pay one referee $35 per game (both home and away). These fees are collected by the coaches/team managers and may vary from team to team. Coaches/team managers will collect enough money for 10 regular season games + 1 tournament game to start. If your team continues to win in tournaments, you may be asked to pay additional referee fees
Gate Fees – Most CPYBL locations will charge a gate fee for entry to games. These fees will vary and are determined by location and are not controlled by WCYBA. Information about gate fee maximums and which locations typically charge fees can be found at cpybl.org/facility
Uniform Fees – Starting with the 22/23 season, each player is responsible for their own jersey. If your child has their jersey from last season that still fits, they may use that. If not, information about ordering a new jersey will be provided as soon as possible. Shorts are not required to be purchased. Anyone that does not purchase the matching uniform shorts is asked to wear navy shorts during games.
All practices will be held at Elite Athletics, Summerside Elementary, Willowville Elementary, Amelia Elementary or Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary. Practice days and times will vary for each team and are decided by the coach. No team will practice before 5pm and after 10pm.
K/1 program participants will practice 30 minutes prior to games.
2nd grade teams and 9th-12th grade teams will practice one night per week.
3rd-8th grade teams will practice two nights per week.
Select teams will practice 2-3 nights totaling 3 hours of practice weekly.
Select teams will begin practices on October 7, 2024*
Recreational teams will begin practices on October 28, 2024*
*Teams can only begin practices as long as all coaches have completed their trainings and are fully approved

2023-2024 season registration closes on the following dates (or when registration is full, whichever comes first):
K-1 closes 10/5
2nd-6th grade closes 10/21
7th-12th grade closes 11/10 (or after school teams are released)
